Step Back In Time
WEDNESDAY, JULY 21,
Since LCMA was started in 1870, we planned to celebrate our 150-year anniversary in 2020; however, due to Covid restrictions, we were unable to celebrate together as a community. So, on Wednesday, July 21, LCMA will celebrate our 150-year anniversary one year late. Several historical events are scheduled for this day (all free and open to the public), starting at 1 pm and running until 4 pm. These “Step Back in Time” events include a historical walking tour of the grounds, Open Houses, Kids’ crafts, historical reenactments and a Story Time.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 21,
Fred is a former president of LCMA and has served as senior pastor to the New Jersey churches of Westville United Methodist Church, Dennisville UMC, South Dennis Trinity UMC, and Tuckahoe UMC. Fred is currently serving as a Provisional Elder in the United Methodist Church and is retiring from full time ministry at the end of June 2021. Fred is a graduate of West Chester University and Palmer Theological Seminary. Fred is an avid student of church and camp meeting history and he will help us “step back in time” as he delivers a powerful sermon on personal holiness that was originally preached during the great National Camp Meeting held on the LCMA grounds in 1873.
Pastor TJ Wolfe
THURSDAY, JULY 22,
Pastor TJ and his wife Betsy are pastors at Eastside Community Church in Gahanna, Ohio where they have been the lead pastors for five years. TJ attended North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota and has been a credentialed minister for the last 18 years. TJ has served in various roles within the church including kids’ ministry, small groups and community outreach. TJ and Betsy’s desire is for all believers to make an eternal impact right where they are. They love spending time together with their two sons and family.
FRIDAY, JULY 23,
Pastor Tim is the senior pastor of Landisville Church of God. (We in LCMA are blessed to hear the “chimes” that ring beautifully from LCoG’s church bell tower every day at 8 am, noon, and 6 pm.) Tim is a 1984 graduate of Hempfield High School, a 1988 graduate of Temple University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Theater, and a 1997 graduate of Lancaster Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. Tim is the son of a former pastor who shepherded this same church from 1980 to 1992. Pastor Tim and his wife Sharon are passionate about spreading the Good News of Jesus not only with words, but in the way they (and we) live our lives with others. Tim and LCoG have partnered with LCMA in past community outreach events on the LCMA grounds.
SATURDAY, JULY 24,
Bill is a retired local businessman from Hershey, Pennsylvania. His life was radically changed here at the LCMA Tabernacle 50 years ago, the same year he started the Haldeman Brothers masonry business. He is a husband (married to Ellie for 55 years), a father, grandfather and great grandfather. Bill is an ordained minister with the Church of the Brethren and has been involved in ministry for the past 40 years. Bill and Ellie are excited to close out our 2021 LCMA Camp Meeting week and look forward to presenting God’s charge to us as we leave these grounds to reach those around us with the good news message and the love of Jesus.
